Our Campus
The College campus is strategically situated within Ndola. The Evangelical Church in Zambia (ECZ) graciously donated the land and some of the buildings that TCCA uses. Prior to 1982, the ECZ operated the Bible College of Central Africa on the same site. A shopping centre, market, primary and secondary schools and a hospital are all within walking distance of the College campus. Being centrally located makes a wide variety of ministry and teaching opportunities available to students in churches, parachurch organisations and in government and private schools.
Student Life
In addition to classes and field ministry, there are a number of other activities in which students can be involved.
Each year the students elect officers to assist in planning and organising student activities both on and off campus. The Student Representative Council (SRC) Executive is the official body representing the students and is comprised of the following:
Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Vice Treasurer, Sports Officer, Health Officer, Tuckshop Manager, Computer Lab Manager and one Committee Member.
Students regularly organise times of fellowship together. The Marrieds Fellowship and the Singles Fellowship each plan events for their own mutual encouragement and enjoyment.
Chapel
Chapel services are held two days per week and are designed to contribute to the spiritual growth of the College community. On Wednesdays students hold their own chapel, while staff meet together to pray and discuss the life of the College. Students are expected to attend all chapel services and take part as requested.
Once each week there are Advisee Groups where students and faculty meet together in small groups to share concerns and to pray for one another. These groups also provide the opportunity for counselling, encouragement and evaluation in ministry.
Graduation
Graduation takes place on the first Saturday of December.
Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate, students must meet the following requirements:
• Academic requirements:
B.Th. students must complete 180 credit hours; Dip.Th. students must complete 135 credit hours. In addition, all ‘courses required for graduation’ must be passed. In the case of a course failure, the lecturer, in consultation with the Academic Dean, may allow the student to sit a comprehensive exam that covers the course content and which, if passed, would void the disqualification for graduation. The exam would not alter the failing course grade.
• Spiritual maturity:
In order to graduate, students must display a level of spiritual maturity, as defined in the Objectives, which the faculty considers acceptable for positions of leadership in churches or Christian organisations.
• Vocational skills:
Those graduating must display competence in the skills necessary for the vocation for which they are training.
• Church commitment:
Graduating students must be in fellowship with the church(es) or organisation(s) which recommended and/or sponsored them for study at TCCA. This normally implies students will be involved with a church of the same denomination while at TCCA; exceptions may be made only with written permission from the sponsors.
• Finances:
All financial obligations to the College must be settled before a student can graduate.
